Thinking of partaking in the general madness that is the Festival in August and was wondering what the chances of finding accommodating in Edinburgh during this time period is? In general, can anyone give me the lowdown on how to go about renting property in Scotland?

Ya, renting a flat during the festival is kind of like looking for a needle in a haystack - my advice, come in July before things get too scarce and get situated then. Chances are the prices will be more expensive - so opt for something short term and then when September or January rolls around, the best time to look for flats in Edinburgh - rent then.

Furnished, unfurnished and even semi-furnished flast are available in Edinburgh, it just depends what your budget is and how much junk you've brought with. Keep in mind there's an IKEA just outside the city for all your home furnishing needs. Also, be mindful that furnished can mean anything in terms of inclusions and style.

A letting agency can be superhelfpful if you're a first-time renter; and they can also shed some light on the different areas around town. For example, rental prices in Leith can differ dramatically when compared to New Town. You'll get the best deals if you sign a long-term let - which last either six months or one year.

Enjoy the festivallllll!!!!

Hello, I would like to recommend our own website www.edlets.com we have over 2500 private homes, self catering apartments and rooms listed and we still have available accommodation for the Edinburgh festival. As we advertise many private homes you will find accommodation that is less expensive. If you are looking for longer term accommodation we can also help you, many people book temporary accommodation in Edinburgh through us and use the time to find longer term accommodation. We also list accommodation available for longer lets. Our staff are all locals and know the city well. If you feel like calling them for freee advice please do so, they will be more than happy to help 0131 510 0020. Have a great time in Edinburgh!
