From the heads of school

"Thank you for your interest in the British School of Bucharest (BSB). It is our pleasure to write the introduction to this prospectus, which we hope will assist you in selecting the most suitable international school to support your child's education and personal development.

"At BSB, our school's primary focus is to foster and provide an excellent academic environment for each individual student by educating the whole person and catering to each personality. The emphasis on educating the whole person remains central to our school's mission and ethos, guided by our five core values.

"We are passionate about providing every learner at BSB with the stimulus, encouragement, and support to develop their academic abilities, ensuring a breadth of opportunities that cater to their wide-ranging interests, so each student can find success and build much-needed confidence.

"As such, the latest ISI inspection highlighted the educational quality at the British School of Bucharest, identifying it as 'excellent' in terms of both the quality of pupils' learning and achievements and the quality of their personal development.

"We are very proud to be rated consistently as 'excellent' in all areas by the UK International School Inspectorate (ISI) in 2018 and 2022. This is the highest possible rating that can be achieved after being inspected by ISI.

"This result reflects the dynamic and progressive education we have offered for over twenty years. An academic education that helps pupils and students be confident to strive for high standards in all disciplines and make a positive difference in the challenges of the modern world.

"We are committed to inspiring our 670 students to become responsible citizens and leaders in communities and professions around the world by offering a wealth of opportunities for academic and personal growth to each individual.

"We encourage you to visit our school campus, where we all look forward to sharing with you first-hand the warm, stimulating, and inspiring environment that the entire BSB community takes pride in."

– Jason Porter, BSB Head of Secondary School and Victoria Smith, BSB Head of Primary School
