Background

Founded in 1963, Dubai English Speaking School (DESS) is the oldest British-curriculum school in the United Arab Emirates. The school has close to 1,000 students and has been upgraded to include modern facilities. In its 2017/2018 Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) inspection, DESS obtained a rating of 'very good'.

As one of the oldest schools in Dubai, DESS has an excellent reputation among expat parents for its good track record in sports, the performing arts and academic achievement. The school accepts students from the Foundation Stage up to Year 6.
