SEK International School Dublin provides a learning experience that fosters the development of students’ intellectual, emotional and social skills in an international setting.
Located between the towns of Bray and Greystones and just 30km (19 miles) from Dublin, the school blends traditional architecture with cutting-edge technology in a space of over 60 acres where sports play a leading role.
Founded in 1981, over 4,000 students have experienced SEK-Dublin’s next-generation learning technology, the chance to live with carefully selected local families and an education programme meeting SEK Schools' rigorous quality standards.
SEK-Dublin is the first school in Ireland to be authorised by the International Baccalaureate Organization to teach its Middle Years Programme (MYP) and is a candidate school to teach the Diploma Programme (DP).
SEK-Dublin is part of SEK Education Group, which was founded in 1892 and has nine international schools throughout Ireland, France, Qatar and Spain.
What the school says
"The SEK Educational System is based on knowledge acquisition through the exploration of concepts, research, and the development of competencies that encourage critical thinking and creativity.
SEK pupils learn strategies that will permit them to be autonomous, self-assured and able to learn independently throughout their lives.
The demands of our educational system and a rigorous evaluation model focussed on improvement allow us to guarantee the highest possible academic attainment from our pupils. With respect to the all-round development of our pupils, we offer a balanced education that particularly values sports, the development of technological competencies and those related to social and emotional intelligence, community service and artistic expression."

From the head of school
"The minute one approaches our long, tree-lined, green pasture lane which overlooks the fields to the sea, one gets the reassuring feeling of knowing that this is home away from home. SEK-Dublin is a wonderful place where living, studying and making lifelong friends will happen. SEK-Dublin offers a unique experience for our students to immerse themselves in Irish culture, which, in turn, motivates them to excel in their studies.
SEK-Dublin offers students a wealth of experiences. These experiences lead them to understand and explore their passions and support them to strive for leadership positions in many areas of interest. Students are encouraged to question and evaluate information critically, to seek out and explore the links between subjects, and to develop an awareness of their place in the world.
Intercultural awareness and communication skills are seen as essential elements to education in the modern world and are fundamental to the MYP philosophy.
We are totally committed to the education and well-being of our students. We strive to help them discover and develop their unique talents, to embrace them in a community of shared values and allow them to reach their own personal goals."
