Expats relocating to the Thai capital should prepare for scorching weather in Bangkok, as it is one of the hottest cities in the world. With a tropical climate, Bangkok's daytime temperatures are commonly above 30°C (86°F) throughout the year.
Spring, which typically runs from March to May is the hottest and most humid time of the year. The rainy season runs from May to October with November to February being the driest time of year.
During the wet season, rain is common throughout the day, and it’s wise to invest in a good umbrella. The rainy season is often accompanied by monsoon winds that can lead to flooding in low-lying areas. Expats in Bangkok during this time of year are advised to follow all official safety regulations.
