Background

The Singapore American School (SAS) was established by expat parents in 1956 to meet the needs of the growing expat community. Today the school is an excellent non-profit American-curriculum school from pre-Kindergarten up to Grade 12. The 36-acre campus makes SAS one of the largest single-campus international schools in the world, with more than 4,000 students from 65 countries, although the majority are American. Despite its large student body, the school retains an excellent teacher-to-student ratio of no more than 22 students per teacher. It is renowned for its excellent academic, sporting and cultural achievements, and students consistently outperform their peers in the US education system. The school has a good choice of extracurricular activities on offer, although it is particularly known for its established dance programme.

“SAS is located on a 36-acre campus in the Woodlands area of Singapore, approximately 35 minutes’ drive from downtown Singapore. The campus is purpose-built, supports classroom spaces for music, art, and drama, and includes state-of-the-art facilities for students at all grade levels. Curriculum

Singapore American School is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) in the US and offers the American High School Diploma at the senior level.

Fees

In the 2025/2026 year, fees for returning students range from SGD 38,170 for Pre-K up to SGD 53,860 for Grade 12.

Fees for all other new students range from SGD 47,730 for Pre-K for Lane 2–4 up to SGD 63,420 for Grade 12 for Lane 2–4. These amounts include the enrolment fee, registration fee, facility fee and tuition.

The school is located in the Woodlands area, about 35 minutes from the city centre.
