I have been (in South Africa) for many years, but now we are wanting to return Britain as most of my family are there. What are the chances of us finding work I am in HR and my husband is in the paper making industry as a field technician. We are both over 50. My sister who has been back for eight years is battling and already been retrenched. Would it be easier to start a business? Any honest advice would be great Terri von gordon Durban South Africa.

Hi! I have a TB scar and a hepatitis B active. I am planning to apply for a job in any of the gulf countries where I can find vacancy for Accountant. I have been reading a few articles that for newcomers, they will be automatically deemed unfit if they will be tested positive for both. My husband and I are toying around with the idea of relocating to Bahrain for his next career chapter. We are from the US, and would like to know what others from the US have experienced as far as their tax situation goes and also, how owning a home the US may complicate or not complicate the situation in Bahrain. Any thoughts are welcome. Thank you!

Central location for school, work, and home in London?

Expert Info

Hello, all. We are moving over for a year with our kids (and our dog). I'm overwhelmed at the magnitude of the move for just a year, but hopefully it will be a wonderful experience. My husband's office is at the Euston Station, we're applying at Southbank, Int'l Community School, and maybe the Int'l School of London. We're heading over in 3 weeks to scout areas and look at schools. Can anyone help me with areas that would be on a direct tube line from Euston and close the schools?

Will my children have access to free education if I move to the UK?

I am a Swiss/Nigerian citizen and so are my kids. I would like to relocate to the UK for educational purposes. I have kids in pre-university, Secondary and Primary level. I would like to find out what my odds are for my kids to go to school there, financially speaking (low cost or no cost at all), and I would like to know areas where the cost of living is affordable, areas that have schools for an ADHD child.

Why does everything close so early in Brussels? (And how to get things done?)

Expert Info

Submitted by cbthomas2006 on
Destination: Belgium

I moved to Brussels in December last year, yet I've had a very difficult time getting settled. I work a white-collar job, typically 9-7 with very little flexibility in my schedule, and I'm perpetually struggling to take care of my day-to-day errands and shopping because everything closes so early (and opening late). I'd expect this in a small town, but not in a capital city with over a million residents.
