I work in technology in a top tier US bank. I have been offered a potential opportunity to move to London. I currently reside in NJ and work in New York City. I am married with two kid (6 & 3). We also own a house in NJ. Looking for advice from expats with similar experience to advice on salary negotiation, tax consideration for UK and US, overall rental costs for a two bedroom and other considerations. I am trying to get an idea what I should I expect so I can better negotiate with HR. I currently make USD $150K and our US mortgage is USD 3k.

US college after Italian middle and high school...is it doable??

Expert Info

Submitted by AcuMamma on
Destination: Italy

Hi,
I would very much appreciate the input of anybody that has experience in this matter. I want to move back to Italy after 25 years in the States. My children were born in the States and have been going to school here, so they would attend middle and high school In Italy. Eventually they may want to come back to the US to go to college, and I am wondering if it would be a problem that they don’t come from the US school system.
Thanks

My Malaysian EP has expired – I never joined the company – do I need tax papers to get another job?

Expert Info

Hi everyone! Just joined this community…I would be immensely grateful for some tips regarding the rather unique situation I face and online searches yield no outcomes! I just love KL and have visited numerous times. I got an offer to work for a high school in KL in early 2017, got the VDR and arrived in KL in August 2017. To my chagrin, the school had very poor enrollments, faculty were all trying to search for other jobs and the school was obviously going thru a tough patch. I obtained the employment pass and was told to go back to India and would be called when things improve!!!

Can I immigrate to Norway or Sweden on a student visa?

Expert Info

Submitted by Egyptian_Knight on
Destination: Norway

I have been working as a marketing coordinator for 9 years in Saudi Arabia. I'm comparing immigrating to SWEDEN VS NORWAY. The condition of immigrating is almost identical such as you can obtain a study visa and after it has expired, I can apply for a residency visa .

My question is can I apply for a tourist visa for both Norway and Sweden and after I arrive go search for a job ? And how can I check for college expenses online? Can I take my wife and son?

I got a D visa for Norway without a job offer. I applied for the visa to do business.

I received a visa letter without any restriction. There is no mentioned that I can do business while on this visa.

My question is, can I work while on that visa? Or can I only do business? Will I have any problems reapplying after 3 years?
