I'm exploring other countries to teach English in as a foreign language. Is it easy to get an EFL job in Oman? What are the working conditions like? Are there big private profit-making schools there? (I've had good experiences with those). Any info on living in Oman would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, recently my husband got a job offer in al Khobar and company offers 12000 SAR. I have some questions...is this salary below average or of medium one? What is the cost of living in al Khobar for north Indian family. What will the cost of renting a house there be? Is there any Indian community in Alkhobar? I'm post graduate M.A (GEOGRAPHY) and i want a teaching job in al Khobar. Is it possible for me to get job there as a teacher and what will be my salary as a teacher? I also had a 6 month-old son. Is it safe for my son? Is al Khobar safe place for my family with 6 month old son?

Getting a corporate job in Taiwan

I'm a 50-something South African male. A couple of years ago I went to South Korea to teach English for a year and made some good money, but I am now too old to teach English according to South Korean law. I am now looking to teach in Taiwan, as I understand the system is different and it's easier to just go and get a job when you're there. Am I likely to face problems for being too old? Also, I have a corporate/sales background - what are chances of getting a decent corporate job as a first language English speaker in Taiwan?

Teaching English in Taiwan or South Korea?

I'm considering going to the East to teach English in September this year or maybe early in 2013. I've heard good things about Japan but the high cost of living puts me off. Is it more lucrative to teach English in South Korea or to teach English in Taiwan? Also, which would make for a more enjoyable year? Any advice or insights would be appreciated.

Moving to Oslo...is my salary enough?

Guys, I am moving to Oslo, Norway in one month. I was wondering you who live/lived there, how would describe the total income of NOK 700k per annum? (impossible, budget, average, high, incredible?) We are a couple. and with such a salary, what could be a reasonable rental per month which leaves enough money for the rest of things. I have no idea about it and would be helpful if you can give me some estimation.

Last june we moved into a house we bought near evian. We went home in sept to do paperwork for long term visa. When we came back,we were told to present ourselves at office in anncey which we did, months later after no follow up,we called, answer was ,still processing. Now here it is april, still nothing, another call and the answer was oh,you have to go to grenoble. We are no strangers to expat life and understand the chaos and non information. We now have to find this mystery office, which it seems, closed till 23. All we have is phone number.
