Hello everybody. I am a physiotherapist from South Africa, and have been offered a job in Qatar. I have been offered a basic monthly salary of QR12000, plus accommodation, and a small transport allowance of QR1000. I am married and have 2 kids still in primary school. My question is: Will this salary allow me to live a decent life( and I don't live lavishly in South Africa), and my biggest concern is whether I will be able to afford decent schooling for my 2 kids, as I understand good schools are very expensive in Qatar.

I got an employment offer and employment visa also with a construction company for an IT position in Muscat, Oman recently. However, due to an unfortunate personal issue at my home in India; I had to pull out and could not take up the offer a week before I was supposed to join. Communicated the same to my employer who was annoyed (rightly so) but appears to have understood the situation. My question is, 1) What will happen to the employment visa now ? Can the employer get it canceled and/or hire someone else ?

I have been offered an NGO position in the St-Gilles area and was quoted a monthly salary of 1420 EUR per month net + Meal vouchers (120EUR) and Public Transit reimbursement. Although we are not the luxury-lifestyle types, we want to make sure this salry will allow our son to go to school and for us to live normally. We have lived in Germany on a 1700EUR net /year salary and spent 700EUR on rent and we found it to be OK. My questions are: 1) Is school free for our 3 year old son?

Hi, I am looking at moving to Chicago with my husbands work. We have 3 kids and I have a lot of concerns about the US. First I grew up in Canada so cold winters, flat land, everything miles apart doesn't worry me what does is as follows: School fees - I understand in the USA there are fees for books etc. which can be expensive. what do you have to pay for? is it just books? how much averagely or worst case scenario is it? Jabs - I looked up the American immunisation schedule and see that kids have jabs nearly every month when little and many until 12ish.

We are a family of 4 and live in The Netherlands, and have been asked whether we would consider moving to the Bay Area (in/around Santa Clara, CA) on a 2 year temporary international assignment. Our youngest son is diagnosed with Phelan-McDermid Syndrome and we have another boy who just turned 6. Our youngest son's mental and physical development is significantly delayed (for example: walking just before turning 2 years, at age of 3 only speaking in 1 syllable words) and he requires continuous stimulation and monitoring on his development.
