Regime of Working Holidaymaker Visa, Belgium?

Expert Info

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
Destination: Brussels
I'm a Canadian who has recently moved to Belgium on a Working Holidaymaker visa. As far as I understand the only restrictions on this type of work permit are such that I may not operate as a freelancer. However a friend and fellow expat told me that the "regime" of my visa may have other restrictions. What types of contracts am I allowed to take on under this visa type?

Hi all, I am Arthur working in Toronto, basically from Texas, USA. I am in an emergency and need to get back to my home town soon. But i have some bank loans pending here. So it is difficult to clear the immigration procedures. One of my friend suggested me Law Office of Matthew Jeffery, he is saying it will help to speed up the formalities. But it will be more comfortable if I can clear this without meeting a lawyer. Somebody please tell me some good solution.

Transfer of salary from Lagos Nigeria to UK?

Expert Info

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
Destination: Lagos
My husband is an expat working in Lagos. We live in the UK and he usually gets his salary transferred straight from his company bank to his bank in the UK. This month there seems to be a problem. The bank (CNB) is refusing to transfer the money as supposedly something to do with money laundering since the new government came in. Obviously this is a problem as I need the money back in the UK. His company is at a loss at what to do (he works in a hotel - an independent). Do anyone have any idea what can be done as obviously if this is not sorted out he will just have to walk away from his job.

All in all, run a normal life and afford myself modest but decent life. I was wondering would this be possible not only in small towns but also in bigger towns such as

I have a job opportunity in Brussels but have only just started doing research on the area.  My first and chief question is about how far my salary would go in Belgium, specifically living in Brussels.  I would make $150,000 with some additional benefits like a company vehicle, paid health insurance, some various vouchers, and 38 days of holiday/vacation leave.  Would this be a good deal in Brussels?  I am, at present, totally without a clue.

We are researching a new documentary series and are looking to talk to British expats who receive benefits, either from the UK or the country they now reside in. We want to talk to people, for research purposes only, who receive health or disability related benefits while making the most of the improved health and better quality of life that living in a warmer climate can bring. We’re also interested in talking to people who receive a UK pension and have moved abroad to better enjoy their retirement, and people who are receiving unemployment benefits from the country they now live in.
