Private kindergarten or daycare in Stockholm (before getting personal number)

Expert Info

Submitted by borislopezaraoz on
Destination: Stockholm
Hello Everyone I am new in this forum, I am moving to Sweden on late February with my wife, which is pregnant, and our 2 kids (4 and 3 years old). We have been informed that getting a personal number will take 2-6 weeks. After that another 3 months until we have kindergarten. Does anybody know other options of day care for this long time? Since my wife will be in the last months of her pregnancy and I will start working almost immediately after we arrive, we are going to need some help with our children. Thanks in advance for your help! Boris

Finding the right elementary school in Toronto

Expert Info

We are moving to Tonronto soon. My husband and I will be working near Bloordale Village and King Street (West) respectively. We have a 5 years old kid and would like to pick a place to live based on a good elementary school. We have been looking at Fraser Institute ratings but I am a bit confused how to interpret a school that is ranked 200 when there are schools ranked at 1 and 2 in comparison. Looking for insight from people who have experience in this area. We were told that areas around High Park would be best suited for us. Does anyone have any inputs on schools in that area?

Hi, I plan to marry my boyfriend, a citizen, born and raised in London and living there. We plan to marry in the States, then I will move to the London about 6 months later. I am having a hard time figuring out what and how to get citizenship, or at the very least be able to work when I move there.
I find the website very vague and difficult to navigate especially with my specific situation.

Any input would be appreciated.

International Baccalaureate Schools in Houston, Texas

Expert Info

Submitted by LauraPow on

Hi everyone, my husband has recently been offered a transfer to Houston, so it looks like we'll be heading there next year or 2019. My kids are both in the International Baccalaureate curriculum now, and my eldest (15) has her heart set on studying in the UK. Ideally, we'd like to keep both of them in the international mindset, because we don't know how long we'll be stationed in Texas yet. My question is, what are the best international schools in Houston? Are there any schools that offer the IB that don't charge tuition? Thanks for the advice! Laura

Medical info on job applications in Taiwan

Expert Info

Submitted by TEFL Wanderluster on
Destination: Taiwan

I am filling out job applications for EFL teaching jobs in Taiwan and they are asking for a lot of medical questions. They are asking about current illnesses and medication which makes sense, but they also want to know "Have you ever suffered from, or been treated for, depression, anxiety, or any other mental or mood disorder?" I have in the past, but no longer. How far back in my history should I go? Will things like being treated for anxiety hurt my job opportunities? Will they be checking with my doctors?
