What are the alternative ways of finding a job in Bahrain?

Expert Info

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
Destination: Bahrain
Currently in the UK looking for a new job in Bahrain. I'm in the creative/marketing industry, so looked up and contacted as many creative agencies as I could find. Registered at a bunch of local and international recruitment agencies. But not getting much in the way of responses. Well any. It's been just over a month. I'm a university graduate, with over 7 years experience in my field. Reckon I'll be priced out of any potential jobs by other expats, from say, India? Is there anything anyone could recommend I try?

Hi there. My name is Alistair and I am a fresh architecture graduate who has just moved to the UAE for work. I found a job in Dubai but I am totally clueless when it comes to living and working here. I am on a graduate salary (SO VERY LOW) and I will need to find a room in a flat to rent. Im battling with a number of things. Firstly Im not sure what areas are good for expats (on a budget) TO BE LIVING IN. The area obviously needs to be near a metro. The area I will be working in is called Business Bay.

I have been accepted a position with ADGAS starting next month. I have never been to Abu Dhabi before and am concrned about a few things. I was told the housing they provide is fully furnished. Does anyone know exactly what that means? Also, Grocery shopping will be important when I first get there as food is kind of important. I don't know if they will help me with that, or if a taxi would be the best bet.

Hi, I am currently holding temporary resident permit in Estonia (EU) through my spouse. I have been offered a job in Barcelona and they are willing to do the paperwork. My questions is: Will I be able to apply for residency in Spain or I will have to be on working visa all the time? Will I have to leave Spain if that current company will be closed or I can apply for another job while I am there? Thank you very much in advance, Narek

How do I get an apartment in the USA with limited funds and no US address for a credit check?

Expert Info

Destination: The USA

Ok, new here, but I need to ask about my situation. I was born a British citizen but legally moved to the USA as a child. I stayed until I recieved my citizenship and then returned to the UK for personal reasons. I really miss my home country, and I know that I have the right to return, but I have no idea how to go about it. I left before I turned 18, so I have no remaining ties to the country other than my passport. My mother lives in the USA, but it is not desirable to move in with her. I have no credit in the US to apply for an apartment.

Hi there

Considering teaching in Sao Paulo for a while and will probably be situated close to the city centre. I heard the traffic there is a bit of a nightmare, so I'm not even gonna bother with a car. I know the city has a metro system- how is it?

Thanks in advance!

What are the best suburbs of San Jose for an expat family?

Hey,

My husband and I are moving to San Jose. We have two kids so finding the right home is a priority. Please can you recommend a nice, safe suburb of San Jose. Being close to good schools is a priority and safety for our children. My husband will be working in Silicon Valley so he needs to be able to commute everyday as well.

Also from my research I see that property in San Jose seems to be very luxurious and expensive. Are there any places where we can find a slightly older property for a more reasonable price ?

Renting property in Thailand - will I have to pay for damages to furniture if it wasn't my fault ?

I live in a furnished apartment in Chiang Mai, Thailand (not the luxury type). Two days ago, I was sitting in front of my laptop on a provided chair (5 steel legs with wheels) while talking to a friend on Skype (PC call). One of the 5 steel legs suddenly bended, the chair fell backward and the backside of my head hit the floor. Next day I talked to the apartment office to replace the damaged chair with a wooden 4-leg steady chair. But they want me to pay for the damaged 5-leg chair. The way I see it:

Hello, I am from India. I have a job offer from one of the big companies in Nigeria, offering me $70000 gross annually plus furnished family accommodation in Lagos, car with driver, health insurance, child education and mobile allowance. How much will I get in hand after tax - in Nigeria and/India. Is it good enough for good living. How much will my monthly expenses be, or at least in what range.

Thanks

Hi again,

So my husband got a job opportunity in Silicon Valley and we will be moving to San Jose later this year.

I will be moving out there with him, but I don't have any IT skills. I have worked as a teacher and reasearch assistant in the past, will there be any opportunities for me in San Jose ?

Any advice would be appreciated.
