Hello I want to know something. I signed an offer letter in Dubai on 21st December 2013.Then I came back to Pakistan as the company sent me back and said they send me the visa but 42 days have passed since I arrived in Pakistan but the company is still saying that I should wait. Can any one tell me how long I should wait? I am very upset.

Hi Madeeha

These things can take time, and some visas take longer than others. It is possible for a temporary foreign worker to wait up to a year for a visa (but this is a worst case scenario). According to the UK Border Agency, however, settlement visas can take up to between 12 and 24 weeks to process.

I'd recommend having a look at VFS Global's website to track your visa application status. You will need your passport number and the reference number given as part of your application.

Have a look at our Visas for Dubai and Work Permits for Dubai pages and see if anything there helps.

Good luck, and hang in there.
