Denmark has been identified as the country where expatriates are most satisfied with their careers, according to a recent Expat Insider survey. The survey, which gathered responses from over 12,500 individuals living abroad, evaluated factors such as career prospects, salary, job security, work culture, and work-life balance.
In Denmark, 84 percent of expats expressed satisfaction with their work-life balance, which is significantly higher than the global average of 60 percent. A similar percentage were pleased with their working hours, which average 40 hours per week compared to the global average of 42.5 hours. 82 percent of expats agree that the Danish business culture supports flexibility around working from home (vs. 56 percent globally).
Many expats in Denmark also value the shorter workweeks, stronger boundaries around out-of-office hours, the five weeks of paid vacation, along with the decent salaries.
Beyond professional aspects, people living in Denmark benefit from robust public transportation, public healthcare, affordable childcare, and generous parental leave policies. These factors contribute to Denmark's consistent ranking as one of the world's happiest countries.
