Background

St David's is a boys school with over 1,100 pupils from Grade 00 to Grade 12. The school has a strong Christian ethos and holds weekly mass for the families of pupils and staff members in the school's beautiful chapel.

St David's has a proud sporting tradition; the rugby and cricket teams compete in international competitions, and participation in extra-curricular sports is compulsory. Boys can choose from a range of sports including the South African favourites rugby and cricket, as well as hockey, water polo and tennis, among others. There are also a number of community outreach projects.

St David's has a large library, well-equipped classrooms, a number of well-maintained grass sports fields, tennis courts, an Astroturf field and a heated swimming pool.

The school is in Rivonia Road, in the heart of Sandton, near the Hyde Park and Sandhurst areas.

“St David’s is a Catholic, Marist school with close to 1,200 boys from all faiths. From Grade 00 to Matric these young men receive a solid grounding in the classroom, the sports fields and in the cultural arena. The extensive work that our boys and teachers undertake outside of our walls, some 25 outreach projects, is the manifestation of the Marist ethos prevalent at St David’s.
