Dear All, I am a qualified teacher of English as a Foreign Language/ English as a Second Language from Hungary. However, I am not sure at all, whether I am allowed to apply for English teaching vacancies in Austria (Vienna), or not. I have an MA (university) degree in teaching English language and literature - I am a philologist. I graduated at a Hungarian institution. I have seven years of practice in teaching in public schools and 17 years of experience in private teaching, and in language exam preparations. Shall I take any international teachers' exams before applying?

I have in excess of 10 years experience in property and project management (numerous commercial roles) and in addition to my MBA I have successfully graduated from MPV (Master of Property Valuation) and MaPV (Master of Applied Project Management).

How does the China Public Health Care System work?

Expert Info

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
Destination: China
I have been told that working in China, I must join the China Public health care system. I have read the one page that explains briefly about the system and opinions, but it is not clear. My company is willing to pay 80% of the fee which sounds okay. I will need to pay 200RMB per month for insurance. Is it really mandatory in Guangzhou for all staff to join? Is that normal? Are there better possible options for Foreign English teachers teaching in China?

Will an old assault charge prevent me from getting a visa for Vietnam?

Expert Info

Destination: Vietnam
I am curious about the criminal background check and if my record will prevent me from obtaining a work permit in Vietnam. In the guide on this site it states "Expats must not have a previous conviction for infringement of national security, must not be facing examination of penal liability and must not be serving a criminal penalty as prescribed by Vietnamese or foreign law." But on other sites it says a "clean" background check in needed. I have an assault charge for 7 years ago that resulted in $250 fine. Will this make it impossible for me to get a work permit?

Destination: Dublin
I am a nurse that will be moving to Ireland in June, most likely going to work at Beaumont. What are some good family areas to live within commute distance of Beaumont? We have a 14yo, 4 1/2yo and a 3yo. We currently live in a small town and I commute into the city to work. There are other cities in Ireland I can move to, but I'm being encouraged to accept the position at Beaumont. All advice is appreciated, thank you.

Expert Info

Destination: Kenya
Hello I'm moving to Nairobi as a kept man and I have read horror stories about cars being expensive in Kenya is this still true and if so is it smarter/ cheaper to bring our car with us (import)? The other issue I have (as my girlfriend has a job there and we have no children) what do I do all day, everyday, I normally work as a map maker (GIS), but again everything I've read says its very difficult (almost impossible) to find work once in Kenya and then get a visa, as all the international companies and organisations recruit from outside Kenya.

How do I bring my vehicle into Norway?

Expert Info

Destination: Norway
Hi everyone! My partner and I are hoping to move to Norway in a couple of months, to travel around the continent in a van and make a documentary of our adventure. Question is- how much would it cost us to import our secondhand van? I read an article which dates back to 2004 which says that we don't need to do anything in particular if we plan to stay in Norway for less than a year. -Does this mean we can just enter the country via the ferry and drive off, or do we need to register somewhere still, pass some kind of test ?

Advice on international schools in Belgium - Bogaerts vs ISF?

Expert Info

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
Destination: Brussels
We are an Anglophone family moving from France to Belgium (we have been in France for 7 years). We will be moving to Belgium and are looking for affordable International schools as we are self-funding. We have an 11 year old and 13 year old and it seems that the only Anglophone International schools to fit our budget are Bogaerts and International School of Flanders both in Waterloo. We hope that the children will complete their secondary education in Belgium so would be grateful for any feedback on these. I am aware that Bogaerts follows IB and ISF , A levels.

Banned status' in the UAE - Are regulations changing?

Destination: United Arab Emirates
Reference with news dated 26-02-2016 - "People with old tuberculosis scars can get UAE visa". It's a great news for me as well as many people suffer from the Ban from old policy and couldn't enter UAE. But I have one question regarding this issue that people who had Immigration Ban on their names because of old policy, now what will be the status of their Bans? Are their Bans removed automatically after this amendment in policy and they can apply new visa directly? or they have to apply some departments to request to remove their Bans?

What are my visa options for Australia?

Hello, I'm looking to move out to Melbourne or Sydney in the summer (uk) of 2017. I was wondering if a 1 to 2 year working holiday Visa would be suitable for me if I'm only planning to work barista roles and things like that. Furthermore, is it best to have a job lined up before I go, or just ensure I have enough money saved up to keep my head above water while I look when I've arrived? I'm 23, British and female.
