Hello everybody, I have a job offer from Joburg and have a few questions regarding life there. I have already lived in Cape Town for a while but I live currently in Europe. The company offers a salary of 22000 Rand cost to company and I am not sure if it will be enough. I am a modest person but won´t live in a shared flat forever. I will rent my own place after a couple of month. And it should be an apartment with living room and bedroom seperated. I am a single person and just have to take care of myself. I will buy a car and that´s it. The company is based in Sandton.

How to Cancel Approved Visit Visa Application for Oman

Expert Info

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
Destination: Oman

Hi, I had applied for Tourist Visit Visa through Oman Embassy in my country of residence. They received necessary approvals from Oman for my application for higher priced visa (express) which I denied to take here locally from the Oman Embassy. Oman Embassy returned my passports and refunded the initial fee. When I enter my passport details on online visa application status, it states visa has been issued for this application. Need to know how it will get cancelled in their system since I have already denied at their embassy in my country of residence.

Move to Dubai with school-age kids?

Expert Info

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
Destination: Dubai
Considering move to Dubai with two boys, the older in 4th grade. Two concerns: School - they are in top-tier NY schools today and do well on private school tests. How well do the better American schools in Dubai compare to the best schools in the US? Life outside school - a bigger concern, especially as they approach teen years - how have parents been successful in finding sufficient healthy outlets for their teenagers in Dubai? I am already assuming that my kids will be back in the US for summers. Thoughtful replies much appreciated!

What are salaries in Denmark like?

Expert Info

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
Destination: Denmark
Hi, I'm a professional who has been presented with a possible opportunity to move to Denmark. I'm a non-EU citizen. I'm a naval architect; In my previous position (in the USA), I earned $76000 p.a.+ $10000 variable overtime pay. I've been very keen to dive into the offshore wind energy sector in Denmark, so this isn't really a move for the money, however, I do not want to undercut myself on the pay (+the higher taxes in Denmark), I'd like to know what would be a good salary of a professional in the Danish maritime sector.

My kid is 5 years old and will need to start schooling in Dubai ( if we decide to move to Dubai, that is). I have read that Islamic studies is compulsory even for international private schools in Dubai. As we are non-Muslim, I would like to know if we will have no choice but to enroll my kid for this subject? Alternatively, could someone advise from what grade is Islamic Studies compulsory? Thank you!
