Hi,

I'm moving to Eindhoven with my wife and 5-year-old daughter (she only speaks Greek and understands Portuguese). We are looking for advice for school options where she can learn to speak Dutch.

Thanks

Hi Bruno,

There is only one international school in Eindhoven, the International School Eindhoven. It offers both the Dutch curriculum and the International Baccalaureate curriculum where your daughter could learn Dutch.

The alternative would be to send her to a local public school. These are free up till age 16, though the curriculum is taught in Dutch. Are you planning on staying long term? If so, young children can easily pick up Dutch, which is a great way for her to adapt and make local friends.

See our page on Education and Schools in Eindhoven for more info.

Hope that helps,

Claire
