Can someone who comes to Oman on an Employment 2 years Working Visa get a better job while living in Oman? Can you change jobs in Oman? How does changing jobs affect your work permit or visa?

Hello, this is a frequently asked question about working in Oman; you want to know if you can look for another job after arriving in Oman? Changing jobs has been quite a difficult issue in Oman, but from 2021, regulations are due to change. Expats typically have to leave Oman for two years before returning to take up another position, or they must ask their employer to sign a No Objection Certification (NOC) to change employment – something which many refuse. However, strict regulations are easing and the NOC has been announced to be removed from 2021, and you should be able to look for a better/different job opportunity. That said, changing jobs could still involve significant paperwork. I'd suggest you contact your respective embassy in Oman for more specific details. Have you already arrived in Oman?

I hope this helps.
