Hey there! My girlfriend and I are thinking of moving to Ecuador, and in preparation we are planning a few months there to see how we like it. We fly into Quito and spend a few days there. We are then taking a bus to Banos and after a few weeks there we are taking a bus to the coast and a bus back to Quito before we fly out of the country. We are worried about the violence. We do not want anything to do with violence, murder or robberies. We think Banos is very safe. We are unsure about Quito or the coast.
We are planning to stay in hostels in the town centers the entire time. Are there public transportation/bus companies you recommend? Any you think we should avoid?
what areas along the coast are bad ideas? We want to be safe and secure. We are just worried about the increase in violence. Please let us know what you think about these areas and what you think we should do!

In general Ecuador is unsafe but some Citys are pretty nice, Cuenca it's a good city to live, Cumbayá in Quito also is pretty good. I can recommend that two place.
