What is the standard of mental and psychiatric healthcare in Czech Republic?

Expert Info

Submitted by ElaineB on
Destination: Czech Republic

There is a possibility that my Czech husband and I may move to (or even retire in) Czech Republic. My husband is a Czech citizen who was born, raised and educated in Prague. He is a native speaker. I am an American. It's my assumption that if we were to move there, I would not have too much difficulty obtaining healthcare coverage. Actually, I'm not exactly sure what the process would be for me, and any costs, etc.

Getting a job in Melbourne, Australia

Expert Info

Submitted by aicelv on

I'm a management graduate with 9 years of experience working in the corporate setting. My background is mainly in marketing, but I'm also keen on operations and working with startups. I'm looking to take my expertise a step further by embracing the challenge of finding success in a foreign setting, particularly in a cosmopolitan city like Melbourne. I see job postings online but don't want to waste my time if employers are only accommodating locals. What's the most logical advice to take?

Does anyone have tips for adjusting to life in Costa Rica?

Expert Info

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
Destination: Costa Rica

I have moved to Costa Rica for quite some time now and I still feel like I am failing to get the hang of the Costa Rican life. I know that I am a foreign man in an unfamiliar land; I already have my citizenship yet I still feel like I am only a visitor. I have the trouble in communicating with the locals there and you can only imagine the struggle that I have trying to understand the people around and trying to make them understand me as well. How should I deal with this?

Will I have to pay income tax in Kenya?

Expert Info

Submitted by andyp on
Destination: Kenya

Hi everyone

I’m British but living and working in Qatar. I may relocate to Mombasa soon but im looking for some advice on income tax on earnings.

i see that it’s capped at 30% but is there any relief for expats if you stay a short time or can it be claimed back.

As my current salary is tax free I’d prefer not to have to give 30% away if I come.

Any help would be appreciated.

Destination: Oslo

Dear community,

I'm trying hard finding a small partly / furnished apartment for lease in the Oslo area from September 2018 but the housing market seems to be very challenging.

Are there any other websites beyond finn.no, hybel.no? Are there any real estate agents you would recommend? Are there any other local resources or organisations I could contact for support?

Thank you very much for your help and kind regards,

Stefan

Hello,

I have lived in Romania for almost 5 years with my family. My husband and my kids have Romanian citizenship. I have a permit to stay in Romania. I understand that after 5 years in Romania, I'm entitled to apply for a Romanian passport subject to a language test. Where can I take this test? Are there any examples of the test?

Thanks

I'm moving to Ireland, will my pension be taxed?

Expert Info

Submitted by citadeldrive on
Destination: Dublin

Hi,

My wife and I are discussing the possibility of retiring in Ireland.  I've been researching taxes in Ireland and there are some areas that are vague.

My spouse was granted her Irish Citizenship through her grandmother and will have an Irish Passport. We are both in our 60's, retired, receiving pensions and social security and have no inclination to work.

I have read that Irish residents have to pay tax on income derived from both inside and outside Ireland, while non-residents pay tax only on their income inside the country.

Can I cater for my food intolerance in Malmö, Sweden?

Expert Info

Submitted by sheena_macfarl… on
Destination: Sweden

Currently living in the Netherlands, since 2014, originally from the UK. I've seen a job, in Malmo, for which I might apply. The problem or worry is my food intolerances - I am severely intolerant of whey (so no dairy), sugar (stevia etc I think is okay), corn, oats etc Gluten is absolutely fine. I avoid soy too. I use almond milk but it needs to be additive and sugar free. Plus I eat sourdough bread, avoiding yeast as much as possible. These things are not a fussy eater's choice - it's all dictated by health issues.

What's the best way to move with my desktop computer to Saudia Arabia?

Expert Info

Submitted by calebkeller94 on
Destination: Saudi Arabia

Hi all! I am moving to Jeddah in August to teach. I'm very excited about this opportunity.

I own a very nice desktop computer that has a lot of my teaching materials on it as well as all of my important personal documents. It's an expensive desktop and houses a lot of important stuff for me. None of it is illegal or at odds with Saudi Arabia's import restrictions.

I'm curious of the best way to get it into the country, if it can be brought with me or, ideally, shipped over. Any advice is very appreciated. Thanks!

Hi all,

My name is Thomas from Germany and I´ve got a job offer for moving to Hong Kong.

Monthly salary would be 65,000HK$ + 5,000HK$ transportation allowance. (before tax)

In addition 35,000HK$ housing allowance. I´m aiming for a 2 bedroom apartment in Kowloon/Jordan/Mong Kok. Possible?

I need to get private health insurance & dental insurance. Any references regarding the costs?

I´ve checked costs for mobile plans, bank accounts, lifestyle costs. That´s fine so far.
