Purchasing property in Villamartin, Orihuela in Spain?

Expert Info

Submitted by robbiepurton on
Destination: Spain
Hi... My partner and I are thinking of purchasing property in or around the Villamartin area. The reason for our choice is the access to golf courses and beaches as well as there being good shopping and entertainment areas. We don't intend to move for a few years but will use the property for holidays for us, our immediate friends and family so it will get used a lot. My question is, is it safe to buy there. I have read all about the Land Grabs and although the area seems to be an urbanisation the property does seem rather cheap! Is there anywhere we should avoid?

Hello Everyone! I just moved to Muscat two weeks ago and been searching for a place to live. It is tough finding something suitable. My wife and dog will be moving in with me so I am trying to find some place where the neighbours will be tolerant to having a dog around. I have tried some real estate agents and searching on the internet but I can't find something nice. Does anyone know a good agent? If you have any tips on locations I'd love to hear them. So far I've seen places in Qurum and Madinat Sultan Qaboos. They were nice places but the bedrooms were always so tight!

Hi, I was offered work in Qatar, but there has been a problem with the visa process. The Visa sent by my sponsor has no middle name on it, so the Qatar embassy here in our country rejected the application. The question is, does my visa only need to be corrected or will my sponsor need to apply for another visa? How long will it take? I need that job asap.

Hello, we are looking to come visit Shanghai later this month but I'm struggling to pin down an area suitable for our family move in July this year. My husband has been offered a job with the Sales office being in Shanghai, but as he can work from home some days, we don't need to be in the thick of Shanghai. We live in rural Wales so it's going to be a huge change.

Hi all, I am new to this forum and found it very useful. One of my friends got a job offer from a reputed company in Al Ain, UAE and HR applied for the Visa. After a few days the HR informed him that the Visa has been rejected by Immigration due to blacklisting. He was shocked as he had already resigned from his job with his current company in India. HR said they will try again.

Hi, we are looking to maybe buy a house in France. At the present time we have an income of roughly £1000 a month, which will increase slightly when I become of pensionable age. My partner already draws state pension. I have been reading up on the process of buying a property in France, but there don't seem to be any fixed property rates, they seem to be different for all.

Should I buy or rent in Cyprus?

I’m going to move to Cyprus, but I don't know which option would be better – buying or renting. I considered Larnaca, as the property market is less expensive, but I’d like to live in Limassol and now I doubt whether I can afford it. Maybe it would be better for me to rent. According to Tranio's online guide, the difference between prices for house in Larnaca and Limassol is not as big as I expected. Can you recommend some options? Who knows property market in Cyprus?

While I'm on it, what and where are the main shopping malls for decent pricing of clothing, footwear, cosmetics etc. Thank you.

What are the chances of relocating to Canada at the age of 45+?

Expert Info

Destination: Canada
Morning, I am a South Africa citizen looking to immigrate to Canada with my family. We are about 5 (3 adults and 2 teenagers)in our family. With us being in our 45 plus age group we wonder if this is seen as a hindrance to immigrating to another country. My partner is a Police Office and I work as a Project Administrator. We should be able to have ±CAD7500pm independent financial support for 6 months till we are able to find work. Would this be viable? Obviously we will have to be frugal and be very strict in our budget to be able to not be a burden on our host country.
