Hello everyone! I am coming to Dubai for the second time. First time, I didn`t have luck to find a job and stay. I hope this time will be different. I am negotiating with my potential employer to come to Dubai and start to work for him. Everything is realistic. Not big salary, hard work. Actually, I want to check the company. I want to get more information than from profile. For example, date when it was founded or some things like that. Can somebody refer me to some web - site or institution with this kind of data? Can I ask for some documentation and what to look at?

Best areas to live in Portugal as an Expat

Hello Portuguese expats!
I'm interested to know about the best areas to live in Portugal as an expat. It appears that many people either move to one of the small villages in central Portgual (around the lake Castelo do Bode is popular) or the Algarve. I imagine the life style varied wildely between the different areas, and no doubt there are other places too that we have not considered? What are the pros and cons of moving to Portugal and these different regions, either as a young family or as a retiree. Many thanks.

Destination: South Africa

hi all, I applied for my permanent residence based on a spousal and this was submitted to South African Embassy in Riyadh July 2014. Was originally told that this process can take 8-12 months but also seen some of the updates stating that there is a lot of work being done on backlogs, are any of you experiencing this? My current permit tracking says Code 102: , again any idea what that means in terms of timescales? and any update when the home affairs online system will be back Any advice appreciated!

How can I avoid the 'good schools' rental premium in Houston?

Expert Info

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
Destination: Houston, TX
Hi there. I am likely to move to Houston on an expat assignment (~2-3 years duration) in the next 6 months or so. Work will be on Sam Houston Parkway in West Houston, close to the intersection with Katy Freeway. My own children are grown up and so I'll not necessarily need to locate in an area where there are good schools. In fact, I'd like to avoid the rental premiums which may be associated with these 'good school areas' and would appreciate any views on where in West, Northwest or Southwest Houston I might find an nice 3-4 bedroom property for rental.

Our questions are: we would like to buy a small tourism business on Vanua Levu. This business is currently owned by a couple who employ Fijians. We would run this business the same way. What kind of difficulties, taxes etc are we going to face if we were to buy this business and move permanently to Fiji? Look forward to receiving some valid and current information. Cheers
