hi all, I applied for my permanent residence based on a spousal and this was submitted to South African Embassy in Riyadh July 2014. Was originally told that this process can take 8-12 months but also seen some of the updates stating that there is a lot of work being done on backlogs, are any of you experiencing this? My current permit tracking says Code 102: , again any idea what that means in terms of timescales? and any update when the home affairs online system will be back Any advice appreciated!

Hi Soomaa, All I can say is good luck!! Hopefully you have heard something by now, but the biggest downfall of this country (SA) happens to be the government and all its departments. I wish I could give u positive news, but the only advice i can give you, is stay patient and pray they are nice to you. Chances of you getting an answer out of the SA home affairs/ any government building, is close to impossible.. Keep trying though and keep nagging. The home affairs system is always "offline". Good luck !!
