I am about to move to SA with my husband and dog. We both have business visas. I am wondering about what identity document we can use to e.g. buy a car or rent a place. Is our passport with visa enough or do we need to apply for ID number in SA?
I don't seem to find any information about this online. Thanks for any help.

Hi Daria,
I moved to SA from the UK and used these guys, you have to pay but they were super helpful: Tracy at Swift Direct.
If you are thinking of buying, building or renovating I used these guys: Kozmo Construction who focus on only expats, allow you to pay in your home currency.
Do you know where you want to live yet? Hope this helps.
