What is the standard of education in Singapore like?

Expert Info

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
Destination: Singapore
I've been offered a position in Singapore and if I take it, will be moving with my wife and two sons. I was wondering whether anybody has any insights into how good the schools in Singapore are?

Being a former colony, I'd imagine that it is easier to find English schools there than in some other places, but are my options going to be limited to international schools?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Is living in Spain still a good idea for expats?

Expert Info

Hi there

My husband and I are considering whether buying a house and moving to Spain for a while is still a good idea, given the economy. This would probably only be next year, but we do need to think about whether it is still a good place to retire to.

Any ideas, suggestions or comments would be most welcome.

Thank you kindly,

Belinda

How can I import goods to from China to Kenya?

Expert Info

Destination: Kenya
Hi. I would like to import clothes and electronics from China. I have already identified a supplier and I would like to get a better understanding of how much it's going to cost me to import them for resale.

The supplier will take care of the cost of importation so my biggest worry is what the government will charge me. How much import tax does the government charge? Are there any other charges that the government may levy against me for running such a business?

Thanks, in advance for the help

Mixed reviews on GEMS World Academy in Dubai?

Expert Info

Submitted by tompitman on
Destination: Dubai
We are updating our guide to schools in Dubai and would like some imput from parents on the GEMS World Academy in Dubai - it would be a great help if parents who have or have had children at the school could write some reviews. We have seen mainly good reports on some of the (many) other GEMS schools in the region, but have heard mixed reports on GEMS World Academy in Dubai. What are the main nationalities of kids in the school, how large are the class sizes, what are the facilities like at the Academy. How good are the teachers, and what is the main nationality of teachers?

Can anyone help me with insights on English-French bilingual schools in Brussels ?

Hi everyone, I'm from Turkey and live in Turkey. We will start to live in Brussels as my husband will work in an expat position. The most important thing I'm wondering is our daughter's education there. We've got a daughter who will be two and a half years old when we arrive there.

I've been researching online but I think that the ideas of experienced people are more valuable and considerate. The company will pay the school fees but only for French-Dutch local schools. However, we prefer a bilingual (English-French) school if we will be able to afford.

If I marry an Omani citizen can my son (from another marriage) get residency?

Expert Info

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
Destination: Oman
Dear Sir/Madam I came to Oman in order to marry an omani man. He has all the necessary documents forthe marriage, but until now wecouldn't take the step to get married because of one reason: I have a 7-year-old boy from an earlier marriage, and although I have sole parental responsabily for him, we were told that he could not get a residency permit. The government would give a family residency to me (as the wife of an omani citizen) but not to my son. I would like to know if this information is true/final and if somebody knows similar cases. I'm utterly destroyed ... Thanks
