Hi everyone!
Can anybody tell me what minimum monthly salary would I need to live in Kuala Lumpur, having in mind the accommodation, transportation, food and rental taxes that I would need to cover.
Also, what number is considered as "reasonable" or "descent" monthly rental price for a STUDIO OR 1 BEDROOM appartment (max.)? I am planning on moving to KL by the beginning of 2015.
Thank you!

MYR10K minimum if you plan to stay single and comfortable. That should allow u to rent a decent studio or 1 bedder for MYR2K- 3K a month in a nice neighborhood. Another 2K for a nice car and the rest for living expenses. I.e. Going around money like food and bills. No savings.

Hi, I would say 5k would have you living "decently", though not lavishly. You could rent a room in about 800-1000 MYR including utilities (a studio or 1 BHK might prove a little bit more expensive). Travel is cheap as you have a lot of public transport options. A 100 MYR card will give you unlimited travel on the metro. For food - add another 1000 MYR per month. And you can spend the rest on travel and save a little bit on the side.
