Looking for English schools in Antwerp

Expert Info

Submitted by Rmax1974 on
Destination: Belgium

Whilst exploring the option of relocating from UK to Belgium, a major consideration is the schooling for my 6 year old (English speaking only). Wanting to live closer to work (Antwerp), I contacted three primary schools in surrounding areas, but am yet to receive a reply. As Antwerp and surrounding areas seem to be predominantly Flemish speaking, I fear my potential relocation choice may be a no go - from a state schooling point of view.

Am I doing all that I can to land an Engineering job in Ireland?

Expert Info

Submitted by kratice on
Destination: Ireland

As the title says, I am wondering if I am doing all that I can to land interviews and hopefully a job as a Manufacturing or Process Engineer in Ireland? As far as I have been able to tell, my occupation is eligible for a Critical Skills Permit. I have gotten mixed messages from recruiters and employers. For the most part recruiters are much more likely to say that I am eligible, while I have only talked to one maybe two employers directly.

Are there any Australian schools in the UK?

Submitted by ljckennedy on
Destination: The United Kingdom

There is a vague comment on the schools page of this website about schools in the UK that follow the Australian curriculum.  But I can not find any such schools.  Is anyone aware of any?

IF not, are there schools favoured by Australians?  I am concerned about culture shock for my kids.

Will I have access to my prescription medication in Dubai?

Expert Info

Submitted by Cali on
Destination: Dubai

I have just been offered a job in Dubai and I’m excited to accept but have one thing I’m uncertain on... I am a cancer survivor, and as such take opioids to combat chronic pain.

My question is this: will a doctor be able to prescribe me morphine/oxycodone tablets to take each day? And if so, will medical insurance cover it or will I have to pay (as I did when working in Mexico)?

Many thanks.

My family and I have been considering a move to the UK, but with all the Brexit confusion and frustration I've begun to wonder if it's the right choice for us. What is the attitude towards foreigners in the UK at the moment? Should we expect to feel any animosity moving to the country as expats?

Hi there I have been offered a two-year work contract in Miami starting in July 2019. My main concern is trying to find the right area to live in and the best school for my children. What are the most popular areas for English-speaking expats in the city? Will the fact that my children can't speak Spanish make the adjustment more difficult for them? Thanks in advance for the help!

Hi,

I am seeking recommendations for good suburbs to live in, and schools for a 16 yr old (male) who will be commencing Year 11 in 2019. From my research, international schools may be the way to go.

I am interested in any recommendations including other areas (websites) that I can find information on.

Thanks everyone.

Relocating to Cape Town- looking for advice on areas and suburbs

Expert Info

Submitted by Worm on
Destination: Cape Town

Hi,

I am relocating to Cape Town with my husband and twin six year old daughters. They will be joining the Hout Bay International School. We are really torn between Constantia and Noordhoek in terms of where to live, so keen to seek some advice on pros and cons of each.

Any advice greatly appreciated. Have heard some negatives about security on Nordhoek beach but not sure if those concerns should extend to the broader living area too?

Many thanks in advance for any advice - greatly appreciated!

What is the work-life balance in Kuala Lumpur like?

Expert Info

Submitted by rpadurean on
Destination: Kuala Lumpur

Hi! My family and I are thinking to move to Kuala Lumpur. We are in the mid 30s with a 20 months old baby boy. My husband and I work as Scrum Masters in the IT industry, and we are looking for similar jobs in Kuala Lumpur. We are both Romanian and currently living in Barcelona (Spain).

Before deciding to take this big step, we'd want to know what to expect from life there. We have several questions and some concerns, we hope that somebody can throw some light on them. Having the young member in our family our main concern is the life-work balance.
