Hi There,

Please help. Does anyone know if I can sell my crafts goods for a profit in Turkey without a work permit?

Hi Anne,

Getting a work permit for Turkey is a long and stressful process. Furthermore, submitting the necessary documents is actually a double application process - so both the employer and employee need to sumbit separate application to the appropriate authorities within the space of 10 days.

As it sounds like you will be self employed I don't think you will be eligable for a work permit in Turkey - these require that an employer support your application. While there are now more and more expats who have moved to Turkey and freelance, this is technically illegal. However, you'll find lots of artists, photographers and writers working in Turkey.

For more information take a look at our Visas for Turkey page or Working in Turkey page.

Good luck.
