Property prices in Switzerland are varied – ranging from CHF 100,000 for a bachelor flat, to CHF 400,000 for a three-room apartment, and well over a million for a stand-alone family house. Price is affected by area, and good deals may be sought. The above from the page on Switzerland... though does not specify the city ... I can tell you that it certainly does not apply to Geneva!! Perhaps these prices would have applied some 10 years ago?!! How often are these pages updated is my question???? p.s. If anyone can find me 'a stand-alone family house' in Geneva Commune, especially on the left bank, PLEASE let me know!

Hi Nosheen

Thanks for your feedback - we're constantly updating our guides and value any comments about information in different destinations. If you're living in Switzerland, and Geneva in particular, it would be great to hear more about your expat experiences in the country. We're always looking for expats to share their insights, in order to get the most accurate and up-to-date info. If you'd be willing to assist us in updating our guides, then please email info@expatarrivals.com

Thanks!

Most of the data i see is way off. Check out the following links for useful real household rent for your area, www.newhome.ch or www.comparis.ch Homegate does not list everything and is preselected. Rent will range from 2500 min for a good area and decent size flat in zurich or geneva. Further from the centres you get the better... Be willing to commute by train and you will be laughing. Rent for a 4.5 room flat which is a 3 bedroom apt is 3000 plus extra costs for a good area with good local schools. I read in the local news that you need 60'000 chf to survive per year here and for a family you will need social assistance for health care depending on your needs.
