Dear Friends, I shall soon be moving to Nairobi, most probably in April 2018. I have concerns about the housing accommodation and which areas are safe to live in. Our Company is located in Industrial area on Homa Bay Road. Is there any residential housing nearby? I shall be looking for 1+ bed room single accommodation. Is it wise to live nearby or the downtown which area is more safe and convenient? How about the transportation? Is it safe to ride public transport or need to arrange private pick & drop taxi? Appreciate if some one guide me in this regards.

Thanks Dear Sarah for your advice and guidance. I shall be grateful to you if you kindly take some time and response to my below queries:
- How easy it is to find single room flat or apartment in that area.
- How much would be the monthly rent for single room apt.
- Which community is dominant in Langata area.
- Is there a Mosque in that area.
- Is the housing compounds or the apartments provided with security gates/guards.
Best Regards.

I would recommend areas such as South B, South C, Langata which are close to industrial area and for transport, use taxi like uber as you get to understand the area.

• It's not that hard to find a one bedroom apartment in Nairobi.
You can contact real estate agencies or I can help you find one.
• Decent One bedroom apartments cost between ksh.18,000 - ksh.40,000
• Langata comprises of different cultures and religions.
• There's a mosque in the area and it's environs;
- Burhani Masjid, Syedna Mohammed Burhannuddin Rd, Nairobi - Karen
- Masjid Al-Huda - South B
- South C Mosque
• Most apartments for the price range quoted above are provided for security.
