Hi! I've got a job near Centrale and have found a lovely room at an affordable price in Via Fratelli Lumière. I wanted to know whether or not the area is safe, as I am a young woman and I know sometimes stations aren't the best places. The apartment is lovely and is 10 minutes walking from work so I'm very tempted! Any suggestions or comments would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi V,
You might find this Expat Arrivals page on areas and suburbs in Milan to be useful.
From what I've read, that area isn't necessarily the prettiest and can feel a bit rough. Nonetheless, I don't feel like you'll have any problems living there. It seems like an area in which you'll feel safe, but not safe enough to leave your bag unattended. A lot of hotels are centred around that area as well, which is a positive sign.
For me, the convenience of a great apartment and proximity to work would outweigh any unease.
Best,
Kyle
