What would a basic good salary be in Warsaw for an expat who's used to medium-range living with the odd luxury thrown in?
Anonymous (not verified) on 11 May 2017 - 09:29
A "good" salary in Poland is a fairly subjective topic, but if we're generalizing - which we are, then I would say 5000 PLZ is a good amount for an expat to earn who's looking for good accommodation in the city centre and a bit extra to enjoy themselves with or to save.

You'll find yourself paying at least 2000 PLZ for decent digs in prime proximity to everything, and then you can anticipate spending about 800 PLZ on food, 100 to 200 PLZ on utilities and another 150 PLZ on transport (counting on a mixture of public and private transport).

If you want a car and have a fetish for eating out, you would probably need to earn a salary of 6000 to 7000 PLZ per month in Warsaw.

Hi All, would 8000 net PLN is enough for a single person to live in studio flat in central Warsaw?

Attempting some answers to the above questions: "Hi, I am Asian & post graduate engineer with 10 years experience. I have got opportunity in Poland. What would be the salary per month based on above qualification/experience." Depends a lot on the company I think - international or Polish. If I were you I'd consider what you would require as a minimum income to be happy (see above answers from Stephanie and my answers below) and work from there when you negotiate. "Are we talking 5000 net to?" Yes. "Hi All, would 8000 net PLN is enough for a single person to live in studio flat in central Warsaw?" Yes. You should be able to live comfortably with 8000 net, this would even be enough for a small family with more modest spending.

Earning €3,000 a month would cover the cost of living in gdansk? What about a couple with no children? I'm a none EU resident as well This is about 12000 zl per month. It is enough even if the couple has 2-3 children

an employer called me a week ago for a vacancy in Krakow , he is asking for a salary expectation. I'm non EU resident and married as well and i earn around 4000$ in my country, could you please help me ?
Anonymous (not verified) on 25 Aug 2012 - 12:55
Ahmad, I would try to ask back what they are willing to offer. Assuming Krakow has around the same living costs as in Warsaw, you need minimum 5-7000 PLN net monthly (I'm not sure about the tax level so I can't say what you should have in total salary) depending on what kind of housing and lifestyle you want. 4000 USD is between 12000 and 13000 PLN so if I were you I wouldn't want to accept a significant salary reduction. Perhaps you could just inform them of your current salary level?

I'm a polish bloke who had to leave Poland in 2004 because of a tragic economic situation. 8000zl/net/month is a 'dream' of vast majority of Poles. Average polish monthly pay is 1500-2000zl/net. Enjoy your stay in Poland!:D

Hi to you all. I am in Poland, Warsaw, for 4 months now working for an international company, and I can share with you the following: - rent in a good district, new flat, modern, with all the admin charges included is about 2 300 zl/ mth(Internet & cable included); - public transportation - 100 zl/mth; - phone expenses (SIM card with Play allowing you to have free, unlimited conversation with Play users) - 50 zl for 3 months; - meals - lunch in cantine - around 15 zl/ in the restaurant 25 - 50 zl/ based on your preferences; - food/ week for 1 person(vegetables, fruits, eggs, bread, wine, eggs, cheese, meat, juice, water) - around 100 zl; - taxi - 8 zl + 2.4 zl/hm; The expenses exposed before are basic, so, I can say that 3000 zl is the minimum for a person living on standard level. Of course, anything above that is more than welcome. 2 more things - gas price (I saw this evening) - 5.49 zl/l and the kindergarten for kids is between 1000 - 1500 zl/ mth. Good luck, Mihaela

For Krakow around 8.000 PLN after the taxes is enough?
Anonymous (not verified) on 1 Aug 2014 - 21:51
Hi Everyone, I would like to say that if you have a family and want to rent an appartament in Warsaw, you hve to spend for it at least 2500 PLN / month. For food/transport/fun I spend around 1300 PLN/month so you can count it for you. The price of living are same for all big cities in Poland ( Gdansk,Poznan,Lodz,Krakow,Wroclaw,Katowice,Szczecin) The differences are in prices of appartaments ( Warsaw - 2500 PLN ( 2 rooms with fees ) the rest of the country it is like 2000PLN/everything. If you want to rent a room it is of course cheaper -700-1000 PLN/Warsaw, 600-700 PLN/the rest Hope that it will be usefull for you guys ;)

Hi all, please read the previous posts before asking a new question! It seems to me that this topic has been quite well explained. To summarize: - You need around 4-5000 PLN net to cover the living costs in a city for a single person, with an apartment not in the exact downtown but quite close, not in the suburbs. This is twice the average Polish salary. - To have a comfortable life with a family (2 children), around 8000 PLN/month net is OK. This is my situation. - With e.g. 10 000 PLN/month net you can afford a larger apartment and a good standard of living with 2-3 children. This salary is 3-5 times more than what the average Polish person earns. - With 12 000 PLN/month net you can choose between an even larger apartment, a better (more expensive) location or more money to spend on lifestyle.

I think it would be a bit of a tight squeeze living on that salary. You can see some cost of living data by clicking here - also try looking up Krakow on cost of living websites like Numbeo and Expatistan.

I am an Indian with 3+ experience in IT field in a well reputed MNC. What salary can i ask to work in a banking company and to stay in Poland?
Anonymous (not verified) on 27 Feb 2018 - 08:58
I can't say much about the salaries for various jobs, but I can say that the cost levels reported in several previous answers are still valid. Inflation in rental costs and the general price level of food etc. has been minimal over the past few years in Poland. The websites mentioned by Meghan earlier should have updated figures. As an example, gas/petrol was listed as 4,53 PLN per liter in am answer several years ago. It still varies between 4,80 PLN and 5,50 PLN per liter, depending on the currency, oil price, brand and day of the week.
