Hi-
I'm moving with husband to Kuala Lumpur in the upcoming months and I've just found out I'm pregnant :) Just wondering if there's any fellow expat women who have given birth in Malaysia and who can direct me to a good hospital, a good OBGYN, and strong support networks. Thanks!

I can highly recommend Prince Court hospital; it was just built in 2007 and has top-notch facilities. It's located in Kuala Lumpur and is popular among expats. Otherwise, there's Pantai and Gleneagles - both frequently used by foreigners as well.
There are definitely some strange differences you'll encounter along the way, but the care and the equipment can rival that of any developed country, and just try and go with the flow and let people know if you're not comfortable at any point in time.
I can also recommend Dr. Paul Tay - he's Malaysian, but was educated and trained in the UK. He was a knowledgeable, caring and easily accessible OBGYN, and my husband and I counted ourselves lucky to have found him.
