We're going to Turkey for a few weeks in the hope of finding a job there. Do we need a visa for Turkey if only going for a few weeks? We're travelling on American passports...

Travellers do need a visa for short trips to Turkey - but these are easy to arrange and most times can be organised and paid for at your port of entry into Turkey. If you're worried about it, rather arrange the visa before hand through your nearest Turkish embassu or consulate - but bear in mind that this may be more time consuming and can cost you more than it would if you get your visa at the airport on arrival. Ensure that you also get an entry stamp when you enter the country so that there are no problems when leaving Turkey. I suggest looking at our Visas for Turkey page to learn more about this.
