Hi Geolly Sylvia,

It is not advised that expats arrive in Dubai without a secure job offer. To work in Dubai you need a work permit, which is arranged by your employer.

While you maybe able to come to Dubai and get a feel for the place and working environment. I wouldn't expect to find a job in 2 to 3 weeks.

You chances also depend on your skills and field of work. Nowadays for unskilled or mid-level employement, employers prefer to employ expats already resident in the country.

A letter of resignation from your job elsewhere is not usually a requirement for the work permit, but ask your employer in Dubai whether it is part of the company requirements.

For more information check out the Work Permits for Dubai and Working in Dubai pages.
