Afternoon I am moving to Dubai in January and finding it a bit daunting to find a place or pick an area to stay. Are there certain areas that South Africans tend to call 'home' Is it better to live outside Dubai and travel in everyday? Thanks

Hey there graham, If you are moving to Dubai it is definitely best to stay in Dubai. Assuming you will be working staying on the outside of Dubai doesn't make much financial or time sense. Its an extra hour of travel time, plus Saliq which is like a road tax plus gas plus the depreciation of the car you are just on the loosing streak. Its always best to live close to your job or the metro. This way you avoid traffic, rush, and extra expenses. The best place to stay by far in my opinion is JLT-jumerah lake terrace. Its like in city suburb which is incredible. You can also look at the Marina and TCOMM. Marina is right across JLT but has more of a move to it, where there is always a bustle of people. T-Comm is more of a business area, loads of cafe's restaurants no nature of beauty in a traditional sense. Since you will be moving you might want to consider using https://movesouq.com/ to help you out. Good luck hope you found this useful =)

Hi, Graham, I agree with Kippling about staying in town. There are various options depending on your budget. If you could let the group know where your office is, we should be able to give you better advice. Thanks!
