Expat Health Insurance
If you’re thinking about taking out private health insurance, our trusted partner Cigna Global is very aware of all the difficulties that expats can face when it comes to healthcare in a new location, so they have created a range of international health insurance plans specifically designed for expats, which you can tailor exactly to the needs and ensure access to quality care for you and your family.
Sirelo has a network of more than 500 international removal companies that can move your furniture and possessions to your new home. By filling in a form, you’ll get up to 5 quotes from recommended movers. This service is free of charge and will help you select an international moving company that suits your needs and budget.
With Brexit around the corner, more and more British expats living abroad have questions they need answers to, particularly regarding healthcare abroad. According to the official GOV.UK website, British expats living in Portugal before the end of 2020 and receiving a UK state pension will have continued rights to access healthcare. As far as I can see, even if you move in 2021, you should be able to access the healthcare system. However, such matters/processes are potentially subject to change and you will probably need to follow certain procedures, such as getting an S1 form. Is this a form you already have? I would suggest, for personalised assistance, to contact a department such as the NHS Overseas Healthcare Services. The link I included above provides the phone number: +44 (0)191 218 1999
