Question about getting married in Argentina?

Expert Info

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
Destination: Buenos Aires
My boyfriend is Argentinian, we want to get married, but we also plan on leaving the country for a while in six months, will this interfere with the legal legitimacy of our marriage? I imagine there are interviews that need to be attended, for example a year after, maybe six months... etc. And after I get married I will need to apply for temporary residency, what happens if my tourist visa expires before this?

My friend (31) and I (25) live in the Netherlands and are thinking about moving to Saigon. I could probably get a job, but currently he can not find work in Saigon. Because it’ s a big step to leave everything behind, we want some clarification about our chances to live and work in Saigon.
1. How do we find a suitable accommodation? We prefer to live in District 2.
2. What are the options for my friend to find work? He has a good job right now in Holland.

Information on healthcare in Portugal

Hi expats, I am moving from the UK to Portugal this summer. One of my biggest concerns is about using hospitals and having access to good medical care. What are hospitals like in Portugal ? Are public hospitals in Portugal of a good standard ? Do expats have access to public healthcare ? Or is it best to go private ? Do most doctors speak English or do I need to converse in Portuguese ? Also, I am planning to take some prescription medicine over from the UK to Portugal. Are there restrictions and will this cause any problems at the airport ? Please let me know your thoughts. Cheers, Kate

Destination: Ho Chi Minh City
Hi expats,

I am considering a move to Vietnam in July and I have a couple of questions regarding the schooling system. I hope some of you can help. I would be taking my two kids who are aged 3 and 8.

How good are the public schools? Are expat kids allowed to attend local schools or will the language barrier be too much of a problem ?

What are the best schools in Ho Chi Minh City for expat children ? I would like my 9 year old to either continue on the British national curriculum or study at an IB school ? How expensive will the fees be ?

Ciao

My company grants me a total annual housing allowance of 318,000.00 Rands. We are a family of 4 (my wife and I plus two children 4 and 6 years old).

We would like to live in a nice area close to the best private schools (Redhill, AISJ, St.John's etc), and of course we would like to have at least a fancy 3 bedrooms house with a small garden and pool in one of those security estates

My questions are:
1)is my budget enough?
2)what is the best area you would suggest me to live in accordingly to my budget?

Hi everyone,

My family and I are planning on moving to the Algarve this summer. I have a question and I was hoping that expats on the forum can help.

I was wondering how good public transport is in Portugal. Although we will be living in the Algarve, we do plan on travelling to other parts of the country. How necessary is it to have a car ?

I lived in Italy for two years a while back and I found it really easy to get around on intercity trains. Is the situation similar in Portugal ?

Please let me know your thoughts.

Cheers

I am doing research on private schools in Paris. I would like to view an online resource which discusses the top (most academically competitive) private schools in Paris. It seems that all of my search results keep generating lists of International Private Schools. What I need is a list of the top private schools in Paris - international or not. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good resource for this information?

Hello Everyone! I am planning to move to Cape Town with my husby at the end of this school year (August 2013 or January 2014).

We have been living far from our homecountries for some time now and are ready to try Cape Town.

We heard and read a lot about it but would deeply appreciate to have as many feedback as possible.

What do we have to know before coming to Cape Town? I am a teacher. Any international school recruiting an ESL/French teacher in Cape Town? My husby is web developer. Any companies hiring? Where should we both apply? any advice?

Hello, I am going to move to Israel because of my fiance who moved there because of work in embassy. I am working in international company and they agreed to move me there for 4 years. Now visa preparation time will starts soon, just in same time we are planning our marriage and due to that reason I will change my surname. Would it be problem in visa process and could make extra complications? Or I can beforehand inform them about changing the name in nearest future because of marriage and later just provide documents which confirms that (also my old passport with previous surname)?

Information on budget accommodation in Nairobi

Expert Info

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
Destination: Nairobi
Hello all,

I'm due to do a four month work placement in Nairobi this coming summer, and I'm now starting to think about living and accommodation.

Rather than the luxury apartments and hotels that I've come across so far I'm looking for something a bit more modest.

My main concern is finding somewhere as cheap as possible, whilst still being relatively safe and practical to commute to Eastleigh.

Open to suggestions and ideas. Thanks, Tom

Destination: Malaysia
Hi All,

My husband has had 5 years experience running a department and is educated till the 10th standard in India. What type of job is available to him in Malaysia ?
How can he obtain a work permit for Malaysia ?

I am a graduate and also pursuing a CWA/CMA course.

Is it a good idea for us to travel to Malaysia and find a job ?

My husband is interested in working there for sometime but he wants to go to Malaysia on a visitors visa and search for partime work first. Do they grant visas for part time jobs in Malaysia.
