My friend (31) and I (25) live in the Netherlands and are thinking about moving to Saigon. I could probably get a job, but currently he can not find work in Saigon. Because it’ s a big step to leave everything behind, we want some clarification about our chances to live and work in Saigon.
1. How do we find a suitable accommodation? We prefer to live in District 2.
2. What are the options for my friend to find work? He has a good job right now in Holland.
3. What is your experience of life in Saigon? We are somewhat familiar with the culture because of our three week tour through Vietnam last year. It seems very nice to get in touch with people who live in Saigon. We'd like to Skype with some dutch people. Do you know any?
Sincerely, Gerben and Merle

To find accommodation in Ho Chi Minh City I would recommend contacting a rental agency, they should be able to help you find accommodation without too much difficulty. Have a look at our page Accommodation in Ho Chi Minh City for more information.
With regards to your friend finding a job I recommend that he look at our page Working in Ho Chi Minh City as we have listed some useful job listing sites there. He might be able to find a suitable job advertised on one of the sites.
For more information on other expats' experiences in Vietnam have a look at our page Expat experences in Vietnam. This should give you a good idea of what other people have experienced in their move to Vietnam. To get in touch with other Dutch expats in Ho Chi Minh City have a look at the Internations website where you can sign up to be put in touch with Dutch expats in Vietnam.
I hope this helps!
