Is it easy to make friends in Italy?

Expert Info

Submitted by Euroguy on
Destination: Italy
I have been living in New Zealand for 16 years and since I am European I would like to live in Italy especially since I feel so socially isolated in New Zealand because its so difficult to make friends with Kiwis. Sad to say but I've given up in New Zealand. I have tried my utmost and I speak English like an Irishman so the language is not a problem but I can't make any Kiwi friends of the same sex - Kiwi mates. Its just making me sad. The reason I would like to live in ITaly is that I speak the language well.

Would appreciate a valuable feedback from someone who had a positive experience with a moving company there :D Thanks a lot

Can I bring my dogs with me to live in Buenos Aires?

Hi. I've been offered a job in Buenos Aires and I'm planning to relocate to Argentina in a few months. I have some concerns about the move, specifically about taking my pets with me. I have two rescue dogs, one small (about 8kg) and one medium-large (about 30kg). Can I transport them by plane? Does Argentina have any specific laws about bringing dogs into the country that could make this difficult? If anyone has done this before and could give me some tips I would really appreciate it.

Is cycling in Budapest safe?

Destination: Budapest
Hi all,

I'm thinking about moving to Budapest and I love cycling wherever I need to go.

I've heard that cycling is popular there, but smoking is popular and that doesn't make it safe.

So my questions are:
How safe is cycling in Budapest?
What's the road culture like?
Are there bike lanes?
Also, how is cycling in winter?

Thanks in advance.

Can anyone share their experiences of moving to South Korea?

I've recently thought about moving to Korea, and even more recently decided I'm very serious about making a reality, and would prefer moving before I'm 22 (currently a freshman in college) so I can still be somewhat young while I'm there. I've done research on a lot of pages so far, but there are a few (probably stupid) questions I needed answered. (I'll already have finished learning Korean by the time I move there)

Hi. I'm looking to move to Barcelona with my family and I've noticed that rentals seem a bit cheaper in the El Raval neighbourhood. Can anyone explain why this is? Is it a safe area to move my family to? We are looking for somewhere family friendly, good value and preferably quite close to the city centre. Thanks, Anya

Hello to everyone, My husband and I are hoping to secure a contract and work in Saudi Arabia, and we have questions that we hope you can answer: 1) We are both Muslims and noticed that in the American International Schools, it looks as religious classes and Arabic classes are not taught everywhere. 2) I have also noticed that in the American Schools, female teachers and students do not wear the hijab. 3) In these schools, I have the feeling that there are no prayer times and Jummah on Friday for Teachers and students? Am I wrong?

Are there any implications for living/working in Dubai as a single unmarried parent?

I am a UK based primary school teacher hoping to teach at an international school in Dubai. I have one child and wondered if being a single parent would hinder my prospects in any way. If I were to be offered a job in a school, do schools generally pay full tuition fees for your child as part of a benefit package? What else would I need to consider? How difficult is it to obtain a job at an international school in Dubai, I have about 18 months teaching experience, I hold a PGCE with QTS. I am in my early 40's. Any advice or information would be great. Thanks AD

How is the internet situation in Mariánské Lázně the Czech republic?

Expert Info

Submitted by MsPau on
Destination: Czech Republic
Hi, I am thinking about moving to Mariánské Lázně with my family. I am completely independent jobwise since I work online. This, of course, means that a reliable internet connection is crucial for my income, and it should also not be too slow (videochats, filesharing etc). Does anybody know if that is a problem in the area of Mariánské Lázně? I've looked at some apartments but in the description it usually only says "internt" (or not) without any further information. Thanks for your help!

Dear Friends, I shall soon be moving to Nairobi, most probably in April 2018. I have concerns about the housing accommodation and which areas are safe to live in. Our Company is located in Industrial area on Homa Bay Road. Is there any residential housing nearby? I shall be looking for 1+ bed room single accommodation. Is it wise to live nearby or the downtown which area is more safe and convenient? How about the transportation? Is it safe to ride public transport or need to arrange private pick & drop taxi? Appreciate if some one guide me in this regards.

Should I be concerned about safety when travelling to Hofuf, Saudi Arabia?

Expert Info

Submitted by Safra33 on

Hi, I am not moving to Saudi Arabia, however, I must travel there to provide a training at a large private hospital in Hofuf. I will only be in SA 2-3 days. I am flying to Dammam and the hospital is picking me up to take me to the hotel in Hofuf. As a U.S. citizen, I would like to know if it is safe to travel by road from Dammam to Hofuf (mainly in terms of terrorist threats) and also is Hofuf safe for Westerners. Thank you in advance for any insight.

How should I choose a suburb in Roswell, Atlanta?

Expert Info

Submitted by Jips on
Destination: Atlanta, GA
Hi there, My husband may have opportunity to move to a job in Roswell, Atlanta (leaving the UK). From reading this forum it seems sensible to move to Roswell or a suburb nearby given the traffic. Which areas are best for schools but also community? Coming from the UK I am a little worried about living too remotely or living in very quiet sprawling suburbs. We currently live commuting distance to London in a busy but green suburb, so we have the best of both worlds.

I am an Indian ,and would be shifting to Yanbu in late March.I have been offered a compensation of 13000 SAR p.m ,with lodging and transportation being mine.

Can you please highlight if the salary mentioned above is a respectable one or not? What will be the avg monthly savings with moderate living standards, accompanied by occasional outings and an annual foreign trip.

Providing a break up of expenses ,including house rent to other would be of great help.
