I will be moving to abu dhabi on 02 March 2013, where is the best place to purchase takeaway beer and how do i get it home as I will not have a car.

I am in a hotel for 6 days then move into an apartment or villa supplied by my employer.

There are a number of liquor stores throughout Abu Dhabi, one of the most popular ones is called Spinneys, and there are a number of them in Abu Dhabi. 

It is not advisable to carry alcohol on the street in Abu Dhabi, so you should try and find some form of transport. 

You will need to get a licence from the Abu Dhabi police before you can purchase alcohol, it will be valid for one year.
