After holidaying for many years in Cyprus, I am hoping to retire to the Famagusta area, initially giving myself a year living there to see if all goes well. I want to long term rent an unfurnished property and the plan is to ship my home out to Cyprus, along with my 2 small dogs. Can anyone help with advice as to ball park costs of shipping, recommended removal companies along with recommended companies/costs of getting the dogs flown out.If all goes well, I aim to be able to relocate by around March 2016. As I am over 60,and have many questions which include advice on health care (I am on regular medication), costs of buying second hand cars, would I need to register residency in my first "trial year"? and opening a Cypriot bank account are some on my list. All advice good or bad, greatly appreciated.

Hi Browney2653,

Take a look at the Cyprus Country guide. You should find lots of general information that cover most of the areas you have questions on.

Have a read and then let us know your specific concerns.
