Hi there we are a family from yorkshire moving to muscat in the summer.

We are coming out at half term to look at schools; we have three daughters aged 5,3 and 18 months. All the schools are over subscribed and the older two are on waiting lists at british school, aba, royal flight and tlc.

There are places at gulf international and muscat international so it's likely we will have to accept one of these places. Tlc may have spaces but I've read some bad reviews.

Can anyone comment on Mis or gulf international please? We had hoped to live at the wave but this seems far out from these schools. We liked the look of dolphin village but again this is full but hoping we might be lucky, otherwise will be looking in MSQ.

We have to accept the job once we return so really hoping we will find a place at a nice school. Any tips and advice would be fab, major life changing decision and need to know we are doing the right thing Thanks for any advice

Hi Pigrat

While I can't give any specific advice on schools, I have posted your question on our Facebook page and Twitter (@ExpatArrivals), so hopefully we can get some on the ground insight.

While you've clearly done some research already, have a look at our Education and Schools in Oman page which might spark an idea or two.

Best of luck on your exciting move - I'm sure things will work out.

Best,

Xavier

My family are in a very similar situation, moving from Lincolnshire hopefully at the end of August. We are on the waiting list for schools but have been told there are no guarantees a place will be available for the start of the summer term. I was given a couple of home schooling websites to use as a last resort, they might be of some use. http://www.shl-shop.com and http://www.weshome.com/ I haven't used them but its an option we are looking into. As for Dolphin village we are hoping to take one of the new 3 bed apartments there are some still available I believe but only available when they are completed (in August In'shallah) its just the 4 beds that are all taken. I would contact Benny at Dolphin and see if the waiting list has changed that's what we did. Best of luck

Hi.I would highly recommend muscat international school. The staff &admins are friendly unlike other schools here. My kids love in here. Its more relaxed environment in here where education and kids are given open up choices to express their thoughts. Thumbs up for this school. All schools ll have their back draw. So don't waste your time .go for it.
