Renting an apartment can easily go up 5000 to 10.000 RMB p month depending on your standards. Than there is the insureance. Is your company going to pay that, or yourself. Food locally is very cheap you can have lunch and diner for 50-RMB per day If you only eat western food, this is more expensive than in your home country, count 100-300 RMB for lunch and diner. Transportation is very cheap, bus is 2RMB, subway around 3-5RMB. taxi of course is more expensive with an average costs of 30 RMB for 10Km. 25000RMB before tax is not so much for somebody for 4.5 year experience in Engineering.
