Hi Deepesh,

When considering a move to Oman it is best to make sure you are fully satisfied with any employment package before accepting it.

Expats looking to work in Oman can only get a work permit through sponsorship from an Omani employer. Because prospective employers invest so much into helping expats obtain an visa, expats will find it very difficult to change jobs in Oman. In order to do this, expats need to get a No Objection Certifical (NOC) from their employer. This is very rarely given, as employers are reluctant to lose valuable employees. Therefore most expats who want to change jobs have to leave Oman for a period of at least six months and then begin the employment visa application process all over again.

For more on visa requirements for Oman read the Visas for Oman page.

Good luck
