Is it possible to rent a property in London for just one month ? Or should I look for a cheap hotel instead ?

Hi MitchellWood,

When do you plan on moving to London?

Genrally speaking most landlords look for tenants that can commit to a 6 month contract. However, it is not impossible to find a one-month rental in the city. There are people who will sublet there flat or room for a short period of time while they go away on holiday - because rents are so high in London, people would rather make a profit than see a place sit empty for a while.

The reason I asked when you plan on moving to London is because if it is during university holidays or the summer - you a probably more likely to find people that are willing to sublet their property on a short-term basis.

Try Gumtree or Spareroom.com

Also take a look at the Expat Arrivals Accommodation in London page for some general information on London's property market.

Good luck.

Hi Mitchel, Instead of booking at a cheap hotel, a short stay rental apartment in London is a good choice. When you take a look at the hotel prices in London, you will certainly be shocked at how expensive things are. So, if you are planning to visit or stay, use vacation rentals in order to save a good amount of money. Companies that offer houses to rent in London will have a great selection of properties including bedsits, studios, apartments and flats that people can rent on a short term basis. For reference Visit Plaza Estates-the leading rental agent These homes will be fully equipped with everything you would expect to find to make your stay comfortable. It will be more like a home away from home with all the mod cons and ample living, dining and sleeping space.

Hi Mitchel There is a company called One Fine Stay, where people rent out their own homes for short periods. Haven't used it myself but know someone who rents out their house through them. Google them!

Well, I'm definitely sure, that there are more then 20 % studio flats to rent in London with availability to rent for short term rent - minimum for 1 month. If you arriving with inter ship or study, you can always find students accommodation, not necessary Hostel, where you need to share the place with others. You can rent private studio flat with all amenities for 245 Pounds per week. The easiest way to find a place to talk to professional estate agency, that would have a list of required properties - studio flats. Specially Vantage Realty can offer more them 100 available properties on the same day. Good Luck!
