I know people who live in Gozo, next to Malta, and they absolutely love it.

Hi Linzi,

What are you reasons for wanting to move to Malta and where are you from originally?

Read the Moving to Malta guide for some general info and ask if you have any further questions.

Hi well we have our house for sale and are so unexcited about moving locally we kind of had a lightbulb moment about moving to Malta,my husband works away a lot and his commute to Malta would be less! We've always thought about moving to sunnier climate and feel it's now or never!

Malta is a lovely location. I have lived there as an expat and loved every minute of it. It is a microcosm full of things to do. For such a small country, it is overwhelming. In my case, I lived in around the Grand Harbour area. The Grand Harbour area from around the coast of Valletta to the 3 cities of Bormla, Birgu and Senglea is a fabulous zone full of life. There is a lovely long promenade along the harbour all around the the 3 cities side which makes for a nice breathtaking stroll. Once you are around that area, Birgu is a great place to visit; Lots of history, shops, restaurants and heritage architecture. I had the fortune of living for a while in a typically Maltese House of Character in Birgu. It was a nice experience. Actually, it is owned by someone who now became a close friend of mine in Malta and it may be available for long-term rent of 12 months and over. It is a lovely quaint Ground-floor fully furnished house, in the most elegant pedestrian street of Vittoriosa (Birgu). The house is highly appointed and is ideal for expat professionals who seek a high class, tranquil, quaint romantic property full of local character and features in one of the best ancient walled cities in the Grand Harbour of Malta. Close to many shops and restaurants, accommodation consists of living/dining room, kitchen, one large double bedroom, bathroom, study area and a small yard. One of the features is a fresh water well in the living room area which also includes a sofa bed opening up into a comfortable double bed for 2 extra adult guests. Hence the property accommodated a maximum of 4 people. Rent was Eur650 monthly. It was really enjoyable, since it was serene and quite inside, yet close to the shops, restaurants, nightlife and heritage. I had managed to get these contact details: with information, video and pictures: http://vittoriosa.wix.com/kwartiersuite or youtube: http://youtu.be/v7mv6E18zQc Or call 0035679412590 or email: kwartier@nobelmantrich.com You can view the House at Kwartier Suite, 28, Gilormu Cassar Street, Birgu, MALTA, I wish you a great time.
