Your employer can also apply for your wife's family residence visa before you and your wife travel to Oman.
All you will need to provide is a certified copy of your marriage certificate.
However, the process is usually easier if you move to the country first and settle into your new job and then she follows. This will make her eligable for a family joining visa.
Ultimatley, the visa your wife applys will depend on how soon you are required to relocate for your job. If you have a fair amount of time to wait for her permit, then you can apply for her residence permit and wait till it arrives to travel together.
Read the Expat Arrival's Visas for Oman page for more information.
Unfortunatley Sri Lankan passport holders are not able to get a visa at the point of entry to Oman and so you will need to apply for and obtain your tourist visa for Oman before you leave Australia.
Have a read of our Visas for Oman page for some general information, but I would suggest contacting your nearest Omani Embassy in Australia to get an accurate list of documents that you will be required to submit as part of your visa application as well as the cost.
Good luck,
Shantalie
